After viewing the program participants should be able to:

* Discuss the reasons why the older person may be malnourished
* Appreciate nutritional requirements of older people, including special diets and food sensitivities
* Describe the strategies that can be put into place to improve nutritional intake in older people such as:
– the environment
– modified diets
– thickened fluids
– increased energy and protein content
