Course Description
This microcredential course has been designed for care staff who work in an aged care setting.
It describes the legal obligations and ethical principles with which you need to be familiar to perform in your chosen occupation, in particular the legal obligation to follow advance care directives and advance care plans.
It forms part of ‘CHCPAL003 Deliver care services using a palliative approach’ and meets nationally approved standards for vocational training.
Learning Outcomes

– Identify the eight standards that make up the Aged Care Quality Standards
– Explain how service provider’s performance is assessed against the Standards
– Recognise the role of the organisation in meeting the Aged Care Quality Standards

– Describe what the term antimicrobial stewardship means
– Describe the requirements of the Aged Care Quality Standards that are concerned with Antimicrobial Stewardship
– Identify what interventions may be implemented so that organisations are compliant with the requirements of Aged Care Quality Standards
Open Disclosure:
– Describe what the term open disclosure means
– Describe the requirements of the Aged Care Quality Standards that are concerned with Open Disclosure
